THIS SCHOOL YEAR'S BOARD INTRODUCTIONS
Hello Bronxdale Families,
My name is Judy Rivera, and I currently have a 10th grader in Bronxdale. I am the primary care giver for my family by day, while earning an undergraduate degree in the evenings. My career experience has privileged me to work in Family Day Care, Center Based Day Cares and assisting families to secure childcare for their infants through school- age children.
I am excited to work together with the Bronxdale community. I feel grateful for the opportunity to work as your PTA President. I look forward to meeting with families to share how we can support our students success at Bronxdale.

My name is Angelina Colon, and I currently have a 9th grader in Bronxdale. I am a certified bilingual education teacher, holding certifications from birth to grade second and from first grade to six, both in regular and special education. I have more than twenty years’ experience in education, beginning with the department of education (DOE) level and continuing in the private sector. I have worked in the classroom with various grades as well as at the Committee of preschool for Special Education (CPSE) level with 3-5 years old. Currently I am an early interventionist, providing services to children and their families in both settings, daycare centers and at home. I am also a private contractor, subcontracted by various agencies throughout the city to provide early intervention services also as an evaluator. On behalf of the Bureau of Early Intervention (EI) NYS department of health, these agencies place lots of emphasis on embedded coaching, which consist on teaching parents and caregivers in applying different ways of teaching different strategies to learning, moving, or paying attention to their children. Working with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) children who experience problems with social communication, interaction, restricted or repetitive behaviors, has empowered me to serve my community in ways that are productive and rewarding. The future of all children is very important for the growth of us all. I am excited to work together with the Bronxdale community. I feel grateful for the opportunity to work as your treasurer. I look forward to meeting with families to share how we can support our students’ success at Bronxdale.
Warm Regards,
Your Parent Association Board
