Welcome to the 12th grade team
With the beginning of college just months away, the 12th Grade Team seeks to nourish each student's independence and to encourage our students to examine their personal passions as the basis for academic work. Students will engage in intensive self-reflection as they compose a college admissions essay and navigate the college application process. Students will embark upon an interdisciplinary Senior Capstone Project, which kicks off with a grade-wide project proposal, a research workshop at CUNY's Hunter College, and culminates with a defense of their year-long work before a panel. Courses like AP Literature and Real Life Writing push students to view contemporary life through a variety of critical lenses and to prompt big discussions on their own terms. Students will hone their financial and political literacy and entrepreneurial acumen via Economics, Participation in Government and Business Math, and participate in hands-on learning about our city's ecology and our planet's future in Environmental Science. The 12th Grade Team isn't lying when we say 'Your future is our present.' Your future really does begin now.
