Hi!

My name is Mr. Nguyen and I was born in Vietnam, but was raised in the Bronx, New York for the majority of my life. I received my Masters in Education at CUNY Hunter College and this will be my third year at Bronxdale high school as a Special Education teacher.

As an educator, I believe in pushing the students not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. Outside of the classroom, I am a lifelong martial artist who holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) under the Renzo Gracie Academy. That said, I am fortunate enough to use my passion outside of teaching to host a Jiu-Jitsu club after school to the students of Bronxdale high and four other schools on campus. In my experience, I find that BJJ Club provides a platform for students to experience a multitude of benefits after a long day of school including but not limited to: physical, spiritual, and mental fitness, camaraderie amongst staff and peers, stress relief, build self-esteem/ confidence, and self-defense.
