Welcome!

Hey! I'm Ms. Samuels. I was born and raised in the Bronx (BX ALL DAY!). I attended Iona College in New Rochelle for my Bachelors in English. and St. John's University for my Masters in Special Education. I always knew I wanted to work with children. I thought I wanted to be an elementary school teacher because I had many years of experience as a babysitter and nanny. However, when I got accepted to the New York City Teaching Fellows, I was put in the cohort of teachers assigned to become licensed in grades 7-12. I honestly did not know how I was going to work with middle and/or high school students, especially because I was so close in age with the high school seniors (I just turned 22 over the summer). However, I got hired at Bronxdale and once I started teaching and getting to know the amazing Bronxdale students and staff, I couldn't imagine myself ever being anywhere else. I quickly learned Bronxdale is a special place to learn and grow. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also love making arts and crafts and decorating for events. I am also the Cheerleading Coach of the entire campus. I truly love being a part of the Bronxdale community and I'm excited to get to know each and every one of you. Gooooooooo Bronxdale!
